Interpreting services for the Refugee & Migration sector
ONCALL works with some of the largest refugee and migration organisations in the world including the UNHCR and the European Asylum Support Office, placing interpreters in often long-term deployments in hotspot locations and supporting with remote video interpreting consultations as well as providing simultaneous interpreting services for meetings, conferences, forums and seminars worldwide.
In addition to language difficulties and the need for substantial interpreter support, refugees and asylum seekers are more likely to face significant barriers to accessing services, including isolation, transport barriers, financial barriers, lack of familiarity with service systems and lack of social networks that could help them understand their rights to services or the practicalities of arranging the help they need. That’s why ONCALL’s work is so important.
